Watch Now: Specialized Dementia Care and Considerations in a COVID-19 World

Published On 5.15.20

Gain insight into dementia and care during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The goal of maintaining a 6-foot social distancing boundary among all people living with dementia housed in a congregate living setting is extremely challenging. To support both the health care providers choosing to provide care and the individuals who are housed in these settings, something more—something different— is needed.

This webinar highlighted various person-centered working practices and routines to optimize the well-being of all involved. Topics addressed:

  • Patient-based infection control considerations such as hand hygiene
  • Activity engagement and the importance of maintaining a routine
  • Communication strategies while wearing PPE
