You Are Not Alone

When FOX treats a patient, we help the whole family. Whether you’re a spouse, child, sibling, or other caregiver, FOX is with you every step of the way. Our clinicians understand that your role can be frightening, exhausting, confusing, and sometimes frustrating. We link arms with you as you navigate and learn the tasks needed for you to be truly helpful.

FOX Dementia Caregiver Education and Assistance

Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia affect memory and can cause behavior changes. The condition can progress with communication difficulty, muddled thinking, and trouble performing day-to-day activities. In the early stages, caregivers can usually assist the person with daily needs just fine. Over time, however, the disease begins to advance, robbing the person of his or her former abilities and independence. That’s when the caregiver must step in to provide assistance that was never before necessary.

The person may have a hard time dressing, getting in and out of the shower, or bathing. However, the greatest challenges may not be physical, but rather the behavioral changes that often come with the progression of dementia.

They’ve [older adults] experienced true independence, and that was taken from them. Our goal is to help them maximize their independence and regain their full potential and that’s what I love about this. They want to get back.
