Subject: Patrick Success Story
Brett,
I wanted to pass along this story of Patrick's excellence, and overall commitment to healing Seniors. One of our residents at Sunrise Senior Living of Exton fell and broke his hip. This is not terribly unusual for our senior population; what is exceptional is the response and actions that Patrick took to ensure his recovery. Shortly after the fall the resident was sent to Paoli medical center for examination. Immediately after this Patrick came to me with a plan, and potential options to incorporate this resident's recovery into his daily life at home at Sunrise. The resident was admitted into surgery for a complete hip replacement, which is a risky procedure for anyone, especially for someone over the age of 80 and who suffers from dementia. The family made this decision after countless hours of deliberation and consultation with Patrick and myself. The family was against him going to a rehabilitation facility from the very start, as they felt that the surroundings would cause him to quickly decline. The family made it very clear that they would not move forward with the procedure unless Patrick was able to work with him exclusively. Patrick pulled each discipline together and worked along side the medical team to ensure an adequate plan was in place prior to the procedure. I was thrilled that Patrick was so willing to go the extra mile to make this procedure work, as the alternative without the procedure would have been catastrophic for the resident and the family. After the procedure the resident was admitted back to Sunrise and Patrick began working with him to ensure his success. When I say work, I mean he worked tirelessly, not only within his own actions, but in also putting forth a training program for the staff so that they could carry out his progress between his sessions. Patrick also came to several of our team meetings to ensure that I had additional support to field any questions the staff may have throughout his recovery. Patrick came in daily working with this resident, and also ensured that the family was fully aware of every step we took to ensure his safe and speedy recovery. After a long process of rehabilitation, I am proud to say that this resident is in better shape than what he was before the fall. I can take no credit for this miraculous recovery, and place every accolade on Patrick's unwavering passion and devotion to his trade. As these words do not even begin to express the true excellence of this story, I will simply say that Patrick is a shining example of the values and mission that have set Fox Rehabilitation™ apart from any other group I have worked with.
Kindest Regards,
